$18.00

Sharp AF.

Simple, sturdy, efficient and easy to use, this essential tool remains unchanged since 1890 but is unmatched in its design. To prevent a negative impact on the environment (pollution from transport and deforestation) the wood for handles comes from sustainably managed French forests. These knifes are made in the heart of the French Alps in Chambéry. Each knife has a simple locking feature that can be engaged by a twist of the collar. Use it on your next picnic or camping trip and stay sharp out there.

This No. 8 knife is small enough to be used as a pocket knife and its 3 1/4" blade prevents it from being considered a weapon in most states (please check with your state).

Blade: 12C27 Sandvik Stainless Steel

Handle:  Beechwood is the most commonly used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. From France, the beech is hard, durable and easy to work. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of numerous small, dark dashes.

Yatagan Style: The classic Opinel blade has adopted a Yatagan shape. The Yatagan shape is inspired by a traditional Turkish saber, the toe up. The blade is ground to an exclusive convex profile that ensures the strength of the blade and allows efficient regrinding.

The Opinel knife is named after the Opinel family from the Savoie region in the heart of the French Alps. In 1890, Joseph Opinel invented a small folding knife that would eventually become a must have of French “savoir-vivre.” It’s now considered a design icon throughout the world.
